Only had this for a few days but, I am very,very pleased. This machine has done everything the ad says it will do. I upgraded it from the Dell Inspirion 1100 and I can say this laptop is light years forward. I did uninstall a number of the Asus preinstalled software, uninstall the anivirus and installed my own kaspersky 2012, besides that I am using right out of the box. The HD screen is great, clear and nice. Videos are excellent,perhaps a bit more Ram memory? uncertain on that. Life of the battery is a good 6 hours on regular use,not power saver but just normal use. Set up was a breeze and I am networked with two other XP machines. All I had to do was put them all on the same router.
For now I give this five stars and would recomend to anyone.

This is a excellent workhorse laptops. Initial setup is simple and straightfroward. The facial recognition software is a pleasant touch. The laptops isn’t loaded down with many different software that you won’t use. Only a few good examples – like antivirus. It has the ability to complete most anything. The design is nice and the keyboard feels great. The numeric keypad is really a bonus. The screenis simple to see in an angle. Life of the battery is excellent at much better than 3 hours. (Perfect for the standard battery.) And the device includes the battery already charged. This is my second of the model in 2 months, and my 3rd Lenovo. I’ve had just one warranty issue – a stuck key – and Lenovo replaced the laptop keyboard and turned the repair around within one working day. Excellent service and conversation suggesting me at each step with the process.

I can’t imagine getting a better laptop for under 400 dollars. This laptop is replacing my HP laptop that was 2 1/2 years old and giving me all kinds of problems. Talked to several technical professionals and they both recommended the Asus brand.
I’m very happy with my purchase. Worked great right out of the box. All programs loaded easily. Runs very quietly.
So long as you aren’t needing to run multiple programs at the same time that take up a lot memory this is a fantastic buy.
